Meet your Japan travel planner

Hi, I’m Marie, the creator behind Tabimawari.
I’m French and originally from Réunion Island. My interest in Japan began years ago through its language and culture and eventually led me to live in Kyoto for a year.
I studied Japanese, traveled through different regions of the country and learned how much the success of a Japan trip depends on its organization: choosing the right route, allowing enough time and understanding how each destination connects to the next.
After helping friends, family and travelers organize their trips, I created Tabimawari to make Japan travel planning clearer and less overwhelming.
Today, I provide two different levels of support:
A complete Japan travel guide for travelers who want to plan independently
A custom itinerary planning service for travelers who want their trip personally designed
My goal isn’t to fit as much as possible into your itinerary. It’s to create a trip that makes sense for your dates, pace and priorities.

My recommendations come from living in Japan, traveling across the country and continually researching destinations and transport.
✔️ Personally planned
Custom itineraries are manually researched and structured around each traveler. They are not automatically generated from a generic template.
✔️ Realistic pacing
Each day is organized according to travel times, location, opening hours and your preferred rhythm.
✔️ Independent travel
You remain in control of your reservations, choices and budget while receiving professional planning support.
✔️ Iconic and lesser-known places
Your trip can combine Japan’s famous destinations with neighborhoods, day trips and regional places that suit your interests.
They traveled with me

A Japan travel planner helps you design and organize your trip without booking it on your behalf.
I build the logic of your itinerary:
Which destinations to visit
How many days to spend in each place
What to do each day
Where to stay to reduce travel time
How to move between destinations
What needs to be booked in advance
You receive the expertise and structure of professional travel planning while keeping the freedom to choose and book everything yourself.
I plan. You book. You enjoy.
